Wengen World Cup Slalom for Sasha Zaitsoff

One of our local racers will be racing in the Wengen World Cup Slalom. Check out his blog to see find out what it is like in Europe right now; Sasha Zaitsoff. Sasha joined us over the Holidays for a day of freeskiing and hanging out with the Red Mountain Racers. Awesome day for our aspiring racers to get the chance to spend some time with one of our countries best skiers.

Training at Red

Training at Red has started! Clear skies and fair conditions has allowed the 2011/2012 Red Mountain Racer Team to get some technical free skiing over the past weekend. New snow in the forecast is what we are all hoping for this Christmas. The team is keen and already showing great spirit. Thanks to the Red Mountain Resort groomers for making the best of the early season conditions.

Order a Red Mountain Racer, Silverfoot Toque

Hello everyone that would love to have a RMR toque!!

I hope that everyone is getting their skis ready, it is not too long till our beloved hill will be open:)

We, RMR, were approached by Silverfoot to get toques from them with our logo;

We need a minimum of 20 toque order, but they can be any of the toques that they carry.
If you would like to have a Red Mountain Racer toque, please contact me by coming into my store (The Red Pair, 2002 columbia ave in Rossland), and order one up:)  All toques have to be prepaid for.
I will make the deadline for ordering for Jan 2, 2012

To choose your toque go to www.silverfoot.com under “outdoor accessories” you will see the apparel section…go there choose your style, write down the style # and name of the toque, come to The Red Pair with the information and your cash (the price you see is what you pay, taxes and shipping are included by Silverfoot).

I will have order forms at The Red Pair for you to fill out.
If you REALLY can not make it in by the deadline, I will take a credit card over the phone….BUT please if you really do not need this, please do not use this option.

Red Mountain Racers,

Good to see the great turn out last weekend for the AGM, potluck, and cross country ski. There is an enthusiasm in club that will surely translate into another great season for all our racers.

All members (parents and racers of all ages) are invited to get together again this Sunday Nov 27 at 1:00pm, for a cross country ski. Meet at the Centennial trail parking for an hour and a half ski on the centennial trail.

Want to see the worlds best skiers race at over 128 km/h?

CBC television will broadcast saturday’s Men’s World Cup Downhill at Lake Louise at 10:00am . “Canadian Cowboy” Erik Guay is set to race for the podium with the second best time in todays training run!

If you have Sportsnet on your cable network the women’s Worldcup Giant Slalom from Aspen will be broadcast at 2:00pm PT.
